PHA Training
We had the pleasure of running Fort Jackson’s CSM’s through some PHA Training.
Peripheral heart action training distributes the blood from the upper portion of the body to the lower portion in a continuous pattern. This allows the blood to distribute waste products more effectively and reduce waste build-up in certain muscles of the body. PHA Training also forces the heart to work harder, increasing the hearts stroke volume improving VO2 max. VO2 max is a significant indicator of a persons fitness. PHA training improves combat readiness by allowing tactical athletes the ability to recover from high intensity events at an accelerated rate. This improves cognitive performance as well as the...

    Nice video, but we don’t buffer lactic acid. Lactic acid disassociates into lactate and hydrogen. The hydrogen is what is detrimental and is buffered by the bicarbonate system. Lactate isn’t all bad- it is shuttled to other muscles and the liver and reused for energy or converted to other substrates for use, increasing lactate threshold.

    Im an army veteran. I was injured back in 2003 in iraq. Long story short - i started doing pt back in feb (2020). Its July now. Im 40 y/o. No matter what I do, I cant run. I do HIIT, Tabata, Jumping rope, calisthenics, and elliptical runs. I've increased my muscular & cardio endurance...but my knees & feet are just demolished. I refuse to quit tho. My ultimate goal is to complete a Spartan race. I stretch using the techniques taught by the other SSG's video on your channel. Wth? Any pointers will help. Yes, I go to the VA. They dont offer help in this department. I maintain a healthy diet & living style. Idk what else to do. I just cant quit.

    I'm definitely interested in hip mobility drills. I've completed the first phase of the LifeFit program here in Indiana and that was something I really liked. Having a video I can constantly go back to would be very helpful.

    What is the safety precaution for those who have knee issues? And does it have a alternate?

    • @usarmyphysicalfitnessschoo7515
      @usarmyphysicalfitnessschoo7515 4 года назад

      MrJoeylj Depending on what the knee issues are, these may need to be addressed before beginning a SAQ program. Although, progression from stability, strength and then moving to power ensures that the athlete possesses the mechanics and movement patterns necessary to move on to the next tier of training. Starting in stabilization and slowly progressing will allow the athlete to maintain posture and hone in on the movement patterns, this will aid in injury prevention. As far as alternates go there are plenty of drills to progress within SAQ. Ladder drills are a good example.
